All the notebooks were written on the right hand page and additions, photos, cartoons or other documents were added to the left hand page.
22nd Sept. 1916. The rain still kept on and orders came for our relief. We marched back after dark reaching Oxford Copse by 11 p.m. here bivouacs had been got ready by a party I sent on ahead.
