Dear Sir,
Just a few lines to you to tell you that I got your kind letter and was very pleased with it and I am please to think that you will do your best for my wife. I have seen one or to of the lads and I gave them your best wishes to them and they was please to here from you and hoping you are in the best of elfe.
Dear Sir I am always pleased when I am out of the tranches for we have had 4 days rain and it is ofal and I shall be glad when it is all over so I can come home again and I am always sinsing those lovely hums and I hope the lord will look over us and bring us back safe and I shall soon be going in the trenches again but I hope I shall come out of them all right and I send my best Wishes to all in Whitwick Church and I should like to see them myself so I think that is all this time from yours truly Mr C Priest and please write back.
