472 – District Court-Martial –
With reference to Brigade Order No. 470 dated 5th July, 1915, the accused marginally named will also be tried by this Court.
In the margin. No. 23/116 Pte. William Rowell 23rd (S.) Battalion, Northd. Fus. (4th Tyneside Scottish).
473– Chaplain – Appointment of –
The Reverend Pierce Egan has been appointed Church of England Chaplain to this Brigade from July 5th, 1915.
Authority, Clergy/General Number/4055, dated June 29th, 1915.
He will be attached for quarters and rations to the 20th (S) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers (1st Tyneside Scottish.)
474 – Boards –
Boards for the purpose of checking clothing, equipment, and other Stores, on being taken over by the War Office from the Tyneside Scottish Committee – will assemble as follows:-
At “A” Camp, 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8th, 22nd (S) Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers (3rd Tyneside Scottish).
At “B” Camp, 9 a.m. Friday, July 9th, 23rd (S) Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers (4th Tyneside Scottish).
At “C” Camp, 2 p.m. Friday, July 9th, 20th (S) Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers (1st Tyneside Scottish).
At “D” Camp, 9 a.m. Saturday, July 10th 21st (S) Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers (2nd Tyneside Scottish).
The Board will consist of 1 Ordnance Officer and 1 Field Officer, the latter to be detailed by the Officer Commanding the Unit concerned.
475 – Brigade Training –
It is notified for general information that owing to the assembly of the Boards referred to in Brigade Order No. 474 of July 6th, 1915, there will be no Brigade Training on Friday, 9th instant.
476 – Men Found “Unfit for Active Service” –
- Medical Officers in charge of Battalions will carefully examine all Recruits on joining. If any of these are, in their opinion “Unfit for Active Service”, they will be examined by the Senior Medical Officer, the Brigade, who will forward his recommendations to Brigade Headquarters.
- Medical Officers in charge of Battalions will carefully weed out any men whom they consider “Unfit for Active Service”. The names of such men will be entered on a list –giving Regimental number; Rank; Name; Age; Disease and Date of Enlistment, and the Medical Officer’s Certificate that the men are “Permanently Unfit for Active Service”. The Medical Officer will also state whether each man is recommended for “Home Service” or “Discharge”.
This list will be sent to the Senior Medical Officer, the Brigade and authority will be issued for the disposal of these men.
- Medical Officers in charge of Battalions will refer any doubtful cases to the Senior Medical Officer, the Brigade.
- All correspondence relating to this Order to be sent to:-
