241 – Mess Tins – Supply of –
Officers Commanding Units will forward indents to Chief Ordnance Officer, York, for any mess tins required to complete, there being a large stock at present in the Ordnance Store.
242 – Discipline –
Attention of Commanding Officers is called to K.R. 514, which must be complied with in future.
243 – Strength – Return of –
A return will be rendered weekly to reach Brigade Headquarters on Fridays, showing composition of the Reserve Companies of Battalions, giving in separate columns men –
- Fit for Foreign Service.
- Unfit for Foreign Service.
- Total.
244 – Extracts from Northern Command Orders –
WAR ESTABLISHMENTS OF NEW ARMIES, 115 –
Attention is directed to the establishments of New Armies, 1915 (issued with Army Orders dated 1st April, 1915), by which it will be seen that two Majors and seven Captains is the authorised establishment of those ranks allowed for an infantry battalion.
In battalions where there are Majors or Captains in excess of the above numbers, they will be absorbed as vacancies occur.

CONTINGENT ALLOWANCE – ROMAN CATHOLIC CHAPLAINS TO THE FORCES –
Contingent Allowance at the rate of 30/- a quarter may be issued to Roman Catholic Chaplains to the Forces. This is intended to cover:-
- Provision and washing of Chaplain’s surplices. Washing of Communion cloths and napkins.
- Provision of bread, wine, candles, etc., for Devine Service.
