INDENTS –

With reference to Command Order No. 63 of the 12th January, 1915, attention is again directed to the following points which must be carefully observed, as a failure to do this causes additional work:-

  1. Indents to be rendered in duplicate.  A sheet of carbon paper will produce this.
  2. Each section of the Vocabulary Stores requires a single sheet to itself.  This is to enable the sheets to be distributed separately to the different foremen in charge of the storehouses.
  3. The Commanding Officer should sign the Indents.  Frequently no signatures at all are entered.
  4. There are two alternative reasons entered on the form as authority for demanding stores.  Only one of these two should be allowed to remain, the other being erased.  Stores demanded for other reasons should be accompanied by a brief explanatory covering letter.  This will facilitate the issue and save correspondence.

The observation of the above points will hasten the issue of stores.
