8 DA programme for Y Day 21 June 1916

Y DAY.

 

  1. Wire cutting in areas E, F, L, M, P, V, and Y, by 2 inch T.M.’s, and 18 prs., and 4.5 Hows.

One battery 86 Bde R.F.A. will continue wire cutting.

 

  1. Special bombardments.

(a).       6.00 a.m. to 6.35 a.m. 3 batteries 2 inch T.M.’s FRONT LINE.

6.00 to 6.30 a.m. as for -65’ on Z.

6.35 to 6.55 a.m. on BLUE.

6.55 to 7.10 a.m. on PINK.

7.10 to 7.20 a.m. on GREEN.

One round per gun per minute.  25% H.E.

At 7.20 this bombardment ceases.

If wind permits smoke will be discharged 7.10 to 7.20 a.m.

 

(b).       4.005 p.m. to 4.15. p.m. 3 batteries 2 inch T.M. Front line.

4.005 to 4.15 p.m. on BROWN.

4.15 to 4.25 p.m. on MAUVE.

4.25 to 4.55 p.m. on ORANGE.

4.55  to 5.10 p.m. search slowly to LIGHT BLUE

At 5.15 p.m. this bombardment ceases.

 

One Round per gun per TWO Minute.  25% H.E.

 

If wind permits smoke will be discharged 5.105 to 5.2015 p.m.

 

  1. At 6.5 a.m. Communication trenches at end of St Vincent Str. And Goose Dubs will be blown.

 

  1. Night firing 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. as already detailed.
